Mickey Woodard joins MLT from the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission where he has practiced for 25 years, most recently as Senior Counsel. He conducted nearly all inquiry and tribunal presentations for the Commission during that time, becoming a seasoned litigator with a total of nearly 100 appearances at the Saskatchewan Court of Queen’s Bench and Saskatchewan Court of Appeal during his time with the Commission, as well as many more appearances before tribunals and boards of inquiry.

Mickey participated in a number of ground breaking decisions on reasonable accommodation, systemic discrimination and sexual harassment, including a number of precedent-setting cases at the Supreme Court of Canada.

Mickey spent much of his time at the Commission researching and drafting opinions, providing advice to Commission staff and representing the Chief Commissioner. He has been heavily involved in public legal education for many years with organizations like the Saskatchewan Legal Education Society Inc. and the Canadian Association of Statutory Human Rights Agencies.

Mickey received his Queen’s Counsel designation in 1998.
