Insolvency

Linda Widdup practices commercial law with an emphasis on commercial lending, business acquisitions and commercial insolvency. She advises business clients on a wide-range of commercial and banking transactions, as well as lenders, receivers and corporate debtors in commercial insolvency matters including under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act. Linda has extensive experience in drafting credit and security documentation for financial institutions for use in their national commercial lending operations. Linda is a recognized authority in personal property security legislation and has published extensively in that area.

Prior to starting with MLT's Saskatoon office, Linda worked for four years in the banking and financial services group of a major New Zealand law firm. The focus of her work in New Zealand was providing advice on that country's newly-enacted Personal Property Security Act which was modeled closely after the Saskatchewan legislation.

Linda has authored a book and a number of articles on personal property security legislation.
