Jean Torrens acts for a
wide range of clients, from individuals and small enterprises

understanding of the issues involved in human resource management,
collective bargaining and the union certification process. She
has negotiated first collective agreements, successfully argued
against the amalgamation of a number of bargaining units, assisted
companies in responding to serious occupational health and safety
incidents, and advised on all aspects of employment law matters.
Jean regularly provides practical advice to clients on personnel
policies, employment contracts and personnel management issues.
Jean has diverse experience as a litigator, having appeared
as counsel in numerous arbitrations, court hearings and labour
relations board disputes. Jean has instructed a variety of workshops,
seminars and courses on such issues as drug and alcohol testing,
human rights, collective bargaining trends, violence and harassment
in the workplace, and has lectured in Civil Procedure at the
College of Law, University of Saskatchewan.
