Michael Tochor's extensive trial and appellate experience includes numerous appearances before administrative tribunals and all levels of courts in Saskatchewan. He has also appeared before the Federal Court of Canada and the Federal Court of Appeal. Michael represented the Province of Saskatchewan before the North Battleford Water Inquiry.

Michael was appointed Chair of the Saskatchewan Police Commission in January 2002. The Commission oversees all municipal police forces in the province as well as the operation of the Saskatchewan Police College, and hears appeals on police discipline matters.

Much of Michael's practice is in the field of criminal law, where his experience includes both jury and non-jury trials. He has published and presented extensively on criminal law issues for periodicals and legal education seminars.
