Christy Stockdale holds
a Master of Laws Degree in Constitutional Law from Osgoode Hall
Law School in Toronto. Many of the issues that arose in researching
and writing her thesis , "The Constitutional Implications
of Implementing Kyoto", are similar to those she deals with
in her practice in constitutional, administrative and labour & employment
law as a member of MLT's litigation group.
Christy has experience with human rights, jurisdictional disputes
and other workplace issues. In the constitutional arena, she
regularly deals with issues involving the Canadian Charter of
Rights and Fr eedoms and disputes over federal/provincial jurisdiction.
Her First Nations practice is focused primarily on land claims
and Charter litigation.
Christy joined MLT in 2002 after completing articles of clerkship
with the Saskatchewan Court of Queen's Bench. She enjoyed significant
academic success in her legal studies at the University of Saskatchewan,
and was the 1995 recepient of the Terry Fox Humanitarian Award,
a four-year scholarship recognizing achievement in academics,
athletics and community service.
