Bonnie
Reid is an experienced litigator who has appeared before all
levels of Courts in Saskatchewan as well as professional disciplinary
bodies and labour relations boards.
Prior to
entering into the practice of law Bonnie was a Registered Nurse
who worked in health care administration and education in hospitals
in Saskatoon, Montreal, Lethbridge and Regina, and as Director
of the Regina Home Care Program, focusing on rehabilitation
and improving the quality of life for home care users. She
participated in the development and implementation of a provincial
home care program. In her legal practice she has acted as Counsel
to the Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations where
she represented the interests of health sector employers in
a number of areas including the reorganization of health care
labour relations.
Bonnie has
also been active in human rights issues, particularly as they
relate to mentoring in the legal profession. She was involved
in background work that led to the development of the Saskatchewan
Human Rights Commission.
Bonnie has
been active in a number of professional and community organizations
during her career. She is a former Director of the Regina District
Health Board, Regina Palliative Care Inc. and Hospitals of
Regina Foundation. Bonnie currently serves as a member of the
Institutional Review Board for the Allan Blair Cancer Centre.
She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and Saskatchewan
Registered Nurses Association.
