Rob
Pletch, MLT's Chairman, has extensive experience in corporate
and commercial matters. He advises entrepreneurs, closely-held
corporations and partnerships, public companies, government
departments and Crown corporations on matters ranging from
deal structure to governance. Rob has acted for many of the
firm's large corporate clients on acquisitions, financing arrangements
and development strategies, and has provided advice on virtually
all of the major privatizations that have occurred in Saskatchewan
during the past 25 years.
Rob is experienced in the area of corporate finance and securities,
in which he has acted for numerous private and public sector corporations
and underwriters to develop financing structures, particularly
privatizations and public offerings. He has extensive experience
drafting prospectuses, offering memoranda and related documents
for offerings on the TSX and on the NYSE. His experience with special
financing includes his acting as senior securities advisor for
two large Crown corporations and underwriters on the issue of exchangeable
bonds, savings bonds and credit bonds valued at in excess of $1
billion. Rob regularly provides advice on compliance issues and
has acted as counsel for the largest Immigrant Investor Venture
Capital Fund in Saskatchewan.
Rob's core practice areas extend to the natural resources sector,
where he has acted as counsel to several international uranium
mining corporations and their joint ventures. He has negotiated
many project development agreements for clients in the mining and
industrial sectors.
Rob has been actively involved with the Saskatchewan Roughrider
Football Club for a number of years, and has recently served as
Chair of the Club's Board of Directors since April, 2007. Since
August, 2007 Rob has held the position of director of Canada Post
Corporation, Canada’s largest Crown corporation, where he
also serves on the Audit and Governance Committees of the Board.
