Shaunt
Parthev is an accomplished litigator who has appeared on many
occasions before the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal and the Saskatchewan
Court of Queen's Bench, as well a various tribunals. He has conducted
numerous jury and non-jury civil trials which include a successful
defence in a six week trial involving complicated construction
and insurance issues arising from substantial losses at a mine.
Shaunt has represented insureds and insurers in various property
and liability claims and was involved in one of the largest civil
cases in Canadian history with damages in excess of half a billion
dollars being at issue. He has also acted for a number of companies
in a variety of environmental challenges. Shaunt specializes
in the defence of complex multi-party claims with special emphasis
on class actions.
Shaunt is a long-time member of the Defense Research Institute
(DRI), an organization based out of Chicago, Illinois that promotes
the interests of the defence bar. Over the years he has spoken
at numerous loss prevention seminars geared towards various professional
disciplines including financial planners, risk managers, architects,
engineers, surveyors and the like. He is well traveled, plays
recreational sports and is an avid motorcycle rider.
