Stathy Markatos joined
MLT in 2003 after completing his Articles as a clerk for the
Chief Justice of the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal. Stathy distinguished
himself in studies in Business and Law at the University of Saskatchewan,
winning numerous notable scholarships and graduating from the
University of Saskatchewan's College of Law first in his Class
of 2002 as the Gold Medal winner.
Stathy advises clients on general corporate and commercial
matters, with a focus in the area of securities laws. Stathy's
practice has encompassed a wide variety of transactions, including
public offerings, private placements, advising on continuous
disclosure and corporate governance matters. Recently, Stathy
has worked on public and private offerings for various ethanol
fuel projects.
He is the Saskatchewan editor of the Canadian Forms and Precedents:
Banking and Finance, Part 12 Private Placements (Butterworths).
