Nonnie advises a wide range
of business organizations on general corporate and commercial
matters, including corporate structuring, legal due diligence,
bids and agreements for purchase and sale, assignments, credit
agreements and corporate financing. She regularly drafts directors’ and
shareholders’ resolutions, corporate bylaws, share transfer
agreements and other commercial documents.
Nonnie advises a number of First Nation economic development organizations
and business enterprises, including corporations, limited partnerships
and joint ventures. She has drafted Band Council Resolutions, advised
on the designation of Reserve lands, and has drafted pleadings
and assisted with litigation relating to the Crown's duty to consult
First Nations.
During her university studies Nonnie was a research student at
a boutique law firm conducting both historical and legal research
into First Nations issues; a research consultant and project coordinator
for the Whitefish Lake (Goodfish) First Nation where she managed
a major archival research project; and a research assistant for
the Metis Aboriginal
Title Research Initiative.
