Len Andrychuk has broad
practice expertise in the areas of environmental law, First Nations
Law, construction contracts, industrial project development and
major equipment procurement. Len is an experienced litigator
with considerable experience in the resolution of construction,
equipment procurement, oil and gas development and other commercial
disputes through litigation and inter-provincial and international
arbitration. He has regularly appeared as counsel before administrative
tribunals and before the Saskatchewan Court of Queen's Bench
and Court of Appeal, the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench and Court
of Appeal, as well as the Supreme Court of Canada. He has also
gained expertise with respect to property tax assessment and
routinely appears before the Court of Appeal in property tax
assessment appeals. In 2005 he was appointed to a five year term
as one of Saskatchewan's panelists for dispute resolution under
the Agreement for Internal Trade.
Len Andrychuk's varied and significant business law, contracting
and litigation skills make him a valued advisor at all stages of
major industrial construction projects, including project development,
contracting, construction, and dispute resolution and avoidance.
He has acted as counsel, from conception to completion, in respect
of major industrial construction projects in both Canada and the
United States. His focus on environmental law issues covers a broad
spectrum of industries, including the natural resource industries
(eg. uranium and potash mining, oil and gas), real estate development,
construction and light and heavy industries of all kinds, providing
representation in environmental litigation, advice with regard
to environmental compliance, liability and remediation.
Len has also advised both First Nations and corporate clients on
the duty to consult with First Nations and Métis, and in
matters relating to aboriginal and treaty rights. He has represented
clients on such matters before the Alberta courts.
