Kristal Allen practices corporate commercial law with an emphasis
on technology, intellectual property, privacy and health law.
Kristal has experience advising on a variety of issues related
to technology and intellectual property law, including technology
licensing and commercialization, research project agreements
and technology ownership. She has been involved in the negotiation
and drafting of a variety of key commercial agreements, including
licensing agreements, technology/material transfer agreements
and non-disclosure agreements, and has worked with clients in
the health care, technology and agriculture sectors to assess
their legal compliance and assist in the protection of their
technology and information assets.
Kristal has also advised on a range of privacy-related matters,
including privacy audits, privacy reviews, privacy impact assessments,
privacy compliance plans and data sharing arrangements. She has
been involved with the development of privacy and risk management
policies for a number of health care clients, and was recently
seconded to a committee of health care providers to assist with
the development
of privacy compliance tools and policies.
Kristal draws upon her experience in plant science and biotechnology
in her practice. Prior to embarking on legal studies, Kristal
worked as a research assistant for major life science companies,
assisting with experimental trials on genetically modified crops
and researching issues in biotechnology and international trade.
She also has experience as a technical marketing assistant and
regulatory affairs supervisor, acting in this capacity as liaison
with public and private industry personnel, providing advice
to producers, marketers and regulators, and assisting in the
development and implementation of product marketing programs.
Kristal has also supervised product trials for the acquisition
of intellectual property rights. |
