Vanessa Monar Enweani to be Inducted into Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame

Vanessa Monar Enweani, "Canada's most accomplished long jumper during the 1990's" (Saskatoon StarPhoenix), will be inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame this fall.
Vanessa won the Canadian Senior Championship title in long jump six times, finished second another two times, and was the 1993 Canadian University Athletic Union long jump champion. She represented Canada seven times in international competition, winning gold at the 1997 Francophone Games in Madagascar, silver at the 1993 World Student Games in Buffalo, and placing fourth at the 1999 Pan-Am Games in Winnipeg. In recognition of her outstanding accomplishments of 1993, Vanessa won the Dr. Fred Tees Trophy as the most outstanding Canadian athlete enrolled in a Canadian university and the Cal Bricker Trophy as the most outstanding Canadian athlete in jumping events. She also won the Ethel Catherwood Trophy as the University of Saskatchewan's most outstanding female athlete in 1990.
Vanessa is a litigator in MLT's Saskatoon office. Her community service includes service as a Director and former President of the 1989 Jeux Canada Games Foundation, and as a former member of the University of Sasatchewan Athletic Endowment Fund.
