MLT Welcomes Six New Partners

Reflecting the continued strong growth of the firm in western Canada, MacPherson Leslie & Tyerman LLP is pleased to announce that Naheed Bardai, Bob Kasian, Clayton Leonard, Stathy Markatos, Eleanor Olszewski and Walter Pavlic have been admitted to the MLT partnership.

Naheed Bardai (Saskatoon) is a litigator who focuses on contractual disputes, professional liability, tort claims and claims for breach of fiduciary duty. He has acted on behalf of mines, railways, condominiums, builders, insurers, businesses and individuals.

Bob Kasian (Saskatoon) has broad experience in commercial and residential real estate and commercial lending, with a focus on property development, sales, acquisitions, leasing and financing transactions. Bob's clients include property developers, owners, investors, tenants and financial institutions.

Clayton Leonard (Calgary) focuses on consultation issues between First Nations, the resource sector and governments. A significant amount of Clayton’s practice relates to water management and allocation, Treaty water rights and other water issues facing First Nations.

Stathy Markatos (Regina) advises clients on general corporate and commercial matters, with a focus on securities law. Stathy has experience with public offerings, private placements, continuous disclosure and corporate governance matters, and has acted on numerous asset and share acquisitions and divestitures.

Eleanor Olszewski, Q.C. (Edmonton) focuses on commercial litigation including construction claims, surety bonding and contractual disputes. She also handles professional disciplinary matters for health-care and other professionals. A portion of her practise involves insurance defence work including disability claims, property claims and claims of negligence against public authorities.

Walter Pavlic, Q.C. (Edmonton) represents management of small and large businesses on labour relations and employment matters. His experience includes collective bargaining, human rights complaints, discipline, dismissal planning, wrongful dismissal litigation, employment contracts and non-competition actions.
