In Regina, A Receptionist

MacPherson, Leslie and Tyerman LLP (MLT) is one of Western Canada’s leading law firms. We are currently looking for a Receptionist to join our Regina support staff team. This position will be responsible for providing clerical and administrative support in order to ensure that MLT services are provided in an efficient and professional manner.

The successful applicant will be a graduate from a recognized Administrative Assistant program and/or have current relevant experience. Our ideal candidate will be highly organized, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work both independently and within a team environment.

Responsibilities include:

1. Greet, assist and/or direct clients and visitors.
2. Receive client telephone calls, direct, answer general inquiries and relay messages.
3. Handle incoming and outgoing courier packages, completing on-line courier waybills and reconciling courier accounts.
4. Record and distribute incoming correspondence.
5. Maintain the boardrooms and reception area.
6. Perform administrative duties including cost disbursement, time sheet entries, telephone directories, and other duties as required.

In Edmonton, A Legal Administrative Assistant

Looking for an opportunity to put your Administrative support skills to work in a dynamic and growing multi-office team environment? MacPherson, Leslie and Tyerman LLP is one of Western Canada’s leading law firms. We are currently looking for a Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Edmonton support staff team. This position will be responsible for the preparation of legal documents and correspondence from dictation and written instructions, as well as clerical support that will ensure MLT services are provided in an efficient and professional manner.

The successful applicant will be a graduate of a recognized Legal Assistant or Legal Secretarial program with two or more years of recent legal secretarial experience, preferably in the Corporate/Commercial area. Our ideal candidate will be highly organized, have superior computer skills, proofreading and grammatical skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work both independently and within a fast-paced, professional team environment.

Additional responsibilities include:

2. File maintenance

In Regina and Saskatoon, Legal Administrative Assistants

Looking for an opportunity to put your Administrative support skills to work in a dynamic and growing multi-office team environment? MLT has an extensive corporate and litigation practice. These positions involve supporting two lawyers and assisting other support staff when required. Responsibilities include preparing legal documents and other correspondence from dictation and written instructions, as well as a variety of clerical tasks that are generally required in a legal environment.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Typing correspondence and legal documents from dictation, handwritten or shorthand notes.
2. Capable of initiating documentation and correspondence on files.
3. Must have knowledge of formatting techniques.
4. File maintenance, including daily filing, file organization, opening files, closing files, keeping client file lists and maintaining tracking system for limitation and follow-up dates.
5. Handling incoming and outgoing mail, answering client telephone calls and general inquiries.
6. Administration duties including time entry and bill preparation.
7. Other related duties may include photocopying, completing on-line courier waybills, etc.
